The Last Time I Got Fired
The company sent me to help wire outlets in an office building. When I arrived, there was two journeyman electricians on site. They had been there for a month. The place had no walls or cubicles so there was nowhere to install outlets. All day long while I looked out the window at traffic on the interstate, they walked around with measuring tapes measuring non-existantoutlets, on non-existant walls. One day a supervisor walked in and asked them what had they been doing for a whole month.
The next day they were replaced by two other journeymen electricians. The first day they spent walking around measuring the same non-existant receptacles. For the next two weeks they did the same thing. No one ever sent the cubicles or the materials. Then the Vice President of the company walked in and asked what had we been doing for the last two weeks. I was laid off the next day.
