Big-uns
I had worked for Management Support in Anaheim for about nine months when I decided to have breast reduction surgery. Now let me tell you, these were big-uns. So big my health insurance was paying for the reduction (under the heading medically necessary) I thought everyone knew about the surgery. Certainly my boss knew, and her boss knew.
So as not to miss a lot of time I had the surgery Friday morning, so naturally I took Friday off. It was a preapproved sick day. I went to work on Monday-before I could even drive. When I arrived at my desk there was a letter waiting for me. They canned me for having "frivolous surgery." He actually put this in writing!! Apparently the owner of the company was not aware of my surgery and he was pretty unhappy about it. The SOB even tried to fight my unemployment claim-he lost.
