Fired because of a dirty fish tank (Sep.2005 entry)!

Well, I work in a small pet store chain. One day a lady came in with water from her fish tank for me to test. She didn't understand why her fish kept dying.

I tested her water and the quality was absolutely horrid. So I told her that her ammonia and nitrate was severely high, as well as her PH, which would lead to fish death. She said "But my water is crystal clear, you must have tested it wrong."

Now I could have tested it again to appease her, but I usually speak before thinking. My response was "Well, vodka is also clear, but it won't sustain life."

The lady apparently called the head office and I got a very angry call from a very angry Irishman telling me to not come in anymore.
