Punk rock rip-off
In June of 2003 I was bartending and booking Punkshows for a bar in Seattle called the xxx Salloon. I
had an agreement with the bar owner to get paid a
certain percentage of the the sales on show nights as
long as the bar hit a certain minimum. Things went
well for about a year. When one night the owner said
the bar did not make the minimum amount for me to get
paid, this happened from time to time so I did not
think it was a big deal. Then on my next bartending
shift when I was balancing my till I noticed in the
books that on the night my boss said the show did not
make my target it was actually about 500 dollars more,
so I should have been paid according to my written
agreement with the owner. So the next day before my
bartending shift I confronted my boss about the
discrepancy. He agreed with me that the bar made the
money, but he was not going to pay me. Then he said I
was fired from bartending because he did not trust me
after I caught him ripping me off, then he asked if I
was going to continue booking shows because he
thought I was doing a "good job". Now I made alot more
bartending then booking so I told him to shove his
booking gig. That is how I was fired from the xxx
Saloon in Seattle.
