let go for a Pepsi
Ok, i am a temp driver, so granted i was not actually fired, but was told: we wont be needing your services any more. Monday i go back to another customer (i love temping).
I got the call at 4 am, just given an address and contact name. While i showered, wife packed lunch. Turns out that i was sent to haul for Coke Cola on a pair of turn arounds to Arizona.
While i was watching the trailer being loaded, i opened my lunch box, looking for anything to snack on. The supervisor looks over my shoulder, sees 2 cans of Pepsi. I explained that hey, i never knew where i was going to work, ect ect. He didnt say a word, just glared at me.
Once my trailer is loaded, i drive out to the gate, ready to leave. The gaurd says: Your relieved of the run, we dont need your services anymore. As i am leaving, i see a co-worker: Hey got a call, glad i made it here. Na, i think. Park outside the truck gate, sure enough 15 minutes later, out he goes in my truck/trailer. Never knew how touchy these cola wars can be! :eek:
