Fired because of a pregnancy!
I got fired in February two weeks after telling my employer I was pregnant. I worked as an executive assistant, and the college, a Christian college supported by campus crusade for christ, just let me go as if I were a major inconvenience. I never got a job review in the two years I worked there, yet they based my termination on "poor performance". I went to a lawyer and after paying $250 for a half hour of rude service, he basically said I was "s.o.l." (**** out of luck).
I have never had a bad review in all the employment I have ever had and I have the reference letters to prove it. I even have an excellent letter of reference from my former boss at the christian college! It appears the decision to fire me did not even come from the individual who was best qualified to review me. But they wound up firing him as well...he was a great boss. Oh well, thanks for letting me vent a bit. Baby is due any day now and I'll be on the hunt for work soon.
