I was the operations manager of a telemarketing company. And if I say so myself, an excellent employee. Every year our boss took members of management and their spouses on vacation, usually to the beach, which was 10 minutes down the road. My husband didn't usually attend because the weekend is just a bunch of partying and hanging out with a bunch of loud and obnoxious people I worked with. Not to mention several of the men were known to cheat on their wives, sometimes with employees. Last year my boss decided we were going to the Bahamas for 4 days. Before he made reservations, my husband decided he wanted to come with us due to the fact that I worked with these sexual pigs. I was told that he was not allowed to come with us and that I either made the trip without him or I was to find a new job. Basically I stood my ground and made it known that my marriage comes first. Mean while, one male member of management was told that he was not allowed to go to the Bahamas because he was obnoxious when he drank-but he was allowed to keep his job. More or less I was fired because I said "no" to my boss. And being the ladies man he thought he was, he couldn't take it, so I was promptly fired. Unfortunately this occurred in NC which is a "right to work state" meaning you can be fired for ANY reason.
