I had worked for parents company putting in somewhere between 40-60 hours in any given week. My stepfather promoted the senior most manager to Vice President of operations (small company 17 employees) and told us that he will be the point of contact for daily operations from here out. Thats all well and good except that this guy, at the time, couldn't find his ass with both hands, didn't know where our properties were or who the players were in what we did day to day. In addition, it was me who came up with plans for implementing internet access, a web page for the company and email for everyone and set it all up. Well finally I had had enough and basically said in a public forum that this guy didn't know what he was doing and that it was a mistake putting him in that position. As a result, they brought me in and fired me. I worked an additional two weeks to transition out instead of leaving everything hanging. SO, after being gone a week, the stepfather calls me back and asks if I can cover a property as the on site manager until a replacement is found. I ended up working an additional two months after my initial firing.
