Fired instead of receiving a raise!

Here goes..I worked for 65 hours a week for a landscape company.When the manager quit I stepped in to help. I did that for a year with no raise or anything. Finally, the owner came in (on my bday) to give me my raise. Instead of my raise, he fired me. Just like that and he could not even tell me why! I proceeded to tell him what I thought of him in 6 lil words..."You are a piece of s&$t!!" And I walked out. He called me a year later and wanted me to come back to work for him. NOPE!!
