Fired for having picture of their own car!
"he didn't even look"
just before christmas last year i was confronted with those words... do you have a minute?
the night before, i had burned my personal file to disk, but left the software open. one of the directories was the name of a car company. we had recently lost a large, high-profile account with the ad agency handling this company due to our error (the only two people who worked on the account where "dan" and our general manager).
i happened to have a directory of the same name, and i was fired for a breech of confidentiality. i had no idea how "customer files" had gotten into my personal directory! in fact, i didn't even know what was in that folder, but it must be true, so i shook his hand left.
20 minutes later, i got a call from my co-worker. "do you know what is in that directory?" he asks. "no". i replied, adding "that is how little that folder meant to me."
"...they're pictures of YOUR CAR!" he said
laughing hysterically i call to get my job back and i still work there today (under slightly different circumstances).
i wink at "dan" more now.
