I was so excited as a teenager when I got my first job working at a well-known ice cream chain. I loved that job......who wouldn't. I worked there for several years and was responsible for closing the store at the end of the day. Well, one night I closed the store as usual. The next day I show up to work to find smoke coming from the owners ears and nose. He had this look on his face that I will NEVER forget. He then informed me that when I closed the store the night before I forgot one major detail. To close the freezer door. Yes, I left the door open all night and everything melted. It was bad enough that all the ice cream melted but so did everyones ice cream cakes that were ready to be picked up. Oops! Needless to say, I heard the dreaded words "your fired". Now, I chuckle everytime I enter an ice cream store and remember the time I survived my bosses BIG MELT DOWN.
