Worked right out of a job!
During my lengthy career {okay, I wandered from job to job from the time I was 12 years old until I started back to college a couple years ago} I have rarely been fired. Usually a lay-off came first or I found a better job to go to. I was just one of those people that people called temp agencies and asked for by name.
There was one place, however, that just couldnt deal with me.
I was hired at this place as a receptionist/file clerk. Within a couple days I knew the phone system and was getting the filing system cleaned up. A few days later, everyone else knew how to use the new filing system and were commenting on how easy it was to work with. Within another week {still in my temp status} I was fired. They no longer needed a receptionist/filing clerk. All they needed was a receptionist. They were no longer willing to pay the extra $.50 per hour above the salary of a receptionist. I had organized myself right out of a job!!!
