Fired for what they say was "Dishonesty"?!?!

Ok so I worked part-time with an after school club. One day another co-worker came up to me while we were at work and told me that the summer schedule (List of where each staff would be working in the summer would be placed) was around and we could possibly check it out to see what area we were being placed in (Ex-Art room, Tech room, Patio). Anyways I knew she was on the hunt to find it and it didn't matter to much to me. Well Before she had stopped to talk to me I was on the way to the directors office to put away a flashlight in a box which was on his desk. And she wanted to place her time card on his desk. So we go in there and I put my flash light away and as she places her time card down on the desk....There it was the summer schedule just sitting there! She was sooo excited she picked it up and looked over it, of course I was interested in looking at it myself.

So she then has the idea of making a copy for herself...So she handed it to me, I then handed to the girl working the front desk to make a copy in the back. So she did and so me and the one other girl had our copies and we put the original back...We started showing other staff but apparently they all well at least most of them already knew where they were being place. So we all went home that friday night.

Then Monday arrives! I get a call from my supervisor asking if I had obtained a copy and I didn't want to lie so I said that "Yes I have one" They called me in to "discuss" the situation and I explained the story just as I am now...I got sent home for a 48 hour probation...the other girl didn't.

So I come back after probation and they tell me that I am being terminated...And I asked them why and then said that it was because I was the one that had picked up the Schedule first from the desk! I was like ummm no I told you 48 hours ago! that it was the other girl that did and he basically said that now I was changing my story and that I lied to him and the director. I even talked to the other girl and said she would tell them that it was her that picked it up first and they didn't want to hear it. I didn't agree so I didn't sign any papers and so they Gave me my last check and I got up and left.

So I was FIRED! For "dishonesty"

By the way the other girl involved with me didn't get fired...instead they lowered her pay back to minimum and took away her leader position and she accepted and signed..She should have quit!

I really did enjoy this job working with the kids but the people there are full of shit!
