When I was younger I was working a lot for temp agencies, hoping to get on permanent with a good company. I had started working at xxx healthcare packing medical orders for people that were to go into surgery the next day. A lot of the items were on high shelves so you needed a picker or a forklift to get to them, I had taken a few lessons on the forklift and was confident I could go on my own with one. Well, here I was 18 years old on the forklift going up, up and up to the very top shelf to get a product. I guess I didn't realize how wobbly I was on the thing and while up in the air i tried to move the lift to the right, to my suprise the lift part hit a sprinkler head knocked it off and flooded the place, I was allowed to finish my shift but the next day which was a Saturday i would have to go get a drug test,(anytime you have a work accident you have to submit to one) it was no problem I would say I woke up at about 10 on Saturday morning got cleaned up and off to the lab I went. I got there at 11:30 to my suprise they closed at noon. I went into the bathroom and for all my might I could not pee.. I went out of the bathroom drank water went back in the bathroom and nothing. The lab tech told me they were closing. I was about in tears. So I left and the following Monday called the agency told them my dilemma and asked if I could just take the test then. The woman said NO and she also proceeded to tell me I was fired. When I asked why I was told if you dont submit a urine sample 24 hours after the accident you automatically fail the test. I was devastated to think that everyone at the company thought I was a drug addict but oh hey you live and you learn.
