Set up and terminated.

I worked for this nursing home for 6 years as a nurse. I worked 16 hour shifts, bailed then out in staffing crunches. Never called out sick. I worked every holiday and while I was ill. I saw the signs a few years back and never thought that I would ever be terminated.
Two weeks prior to my termination there was an complaint to the department of health about an employee. The complaint stated that she pretended to be a nurse when in fact she was not. I was called down to the office and was told that they felt that I either called the state or had something do with it. I denied it(I was on vacation when the complaint came in). I explained to them that I had nothing to do with the complaint. The Director of nursing then said to me. See, I have many pens in my pocket see no write ups, no couching's. Then she said if I knew who called or called the state, warn them. Warn them I said ODD.
Two weeks later I was called to the office and suspended. According to them I did not give some of the patients all their medications. I explained to them that only one resident did not receive their medication because she refused. I was then escorted out of the building ding. I was them terminated.
The horrible part to this whole incident was that they then turned my license into the state. They even said that I had numerous write ups. Which I did not. They even lied to the state and stated that I had a third and final written warning prior to the termination, All a lie. Now I have to worry that my license will be suspended. Not only did these heartless jerks set me up they have to play with my license.
I have contacted a lawyer and will find out my rights. If there is anyone out there that can give me some advice please.

Yeah I worked for a hospital once as a cna... The nurses treated me like crap. I thought it was common knowledge that if nurses don't like you you are pretty much toast. Regardless. They really should do something about the nursing industry some kind of regulation... no harassment.

My mother worked as a dental technician at a dentist's office and she went through almost the the exact same thing you did. I don't know how your state works but apply for unemployment and explain you were terminated under unfair grounds. If your former employer contests unemployment payments then the state will bring them and you before state arbitration, where they will be forced to provide any such written warnings they claim they have and by law they have to have your signature on them stating you reviewed it. If they can't provide any such writeup then you will get your unemployment and it will create a record with the state that they have no writeup on you, in case they attempt to sabotage your license. If they try, then that opens them up for legal damages.

It's great to read that you have contacted a lawyer. If the case is strong, the law office may take it on without you having to pay for legal fees. When my wife was fired for being pregnant, our lawyers felt that is was a strong enough case to go on contingency. Also, I hope you documented EVERYTHING. Good luck to you! Also, for a laugh, visit workdefense.com because it helps to vent a little. Take care!
