Honesty doesn`t keep a job

Last year I entered a big company that offered a big salary. But it turned out to be a nightmare. My manager was a young, cute little thing, that could say anything and do anything because nothing was her fault. She always blamed the supervisors in her team, like myself.

Last February, in a surprise inspection from Headquarters Office of the company, I was randomly selected to a private interview. I was asked about several complaint letters that had arrived about people not getting any feedback from the manager, that she spent her days chatting on-line, going to the gym, listening to the ipod so much she missed phone calls and questions from employees, etc. I said that all that info was true. The Supervisor commended me for my honesty and said they will take the appropriate measures.

Next day, my personal belongings were in a plastic bag in the lobby, and a written dismissal for misconduct, betrayal of confidence and disloyalty to the team. The day I was called to pick up my last check, I was escorted by 2 security guards to and from HR "to avoid conflict".

The funny side of this is that one of my coworkers informed me that a week after I was fired, there was a memo encouraging people for honest feedback about upper management. My boss got a 100% approval.

Jeez, I wonder how THAT happened.

Thats horrible. You could sue them for that. Just call any lawyer that deals in this sort of thing. You have a strong case. Good Luck.

I had somewhat of the same thing happen to me. I contacted a lawyer and you have to file a complaint with the EEOC but it is a hard case. Good luck and don't give up. I know it is a really awful feeling.
