The Shipyard Wreck(Where money is more important than human’s future)
In 2005’s august,after waiting so long for a job,I began to work in one of the shipyard in Eregli as assistant of an ship construction engineer.I was responsible mostly from the translations,faxes,organizing documents,phone calls and etc.And I was dismissed from the after the religious holiday in Turkey.The employer thought that before dismissing the employee he/she had to spend a wonderful holiday before hearing a bad news from the employer.It was their bad way of working.And after approximately three months working I was dismissed.When I first heard the bad news I could not think anything.I was shocked.Who could think about dismissing from the work after a wonderful holiday with his/her family?Bad news comes without warning.Personally I think and I believe that I did my best as an assistant.I was loved and supported by most of the people.But unfortunately the reality was so different.I learned that the reality and the thoughts of a person could be different.You were thinking you were loved but the reality could be different.
Anyway,the shipyard working hours were between 08.30 in the morning and 18.00 in the evening.I was never late for work.The shipyard head office in İstanbul had guests from Italy.The owner of the head office called the shipyard in Eregli after 18.00 about italian guests.If they had given a responsibility I would have stayed in the shipyard until late hours for the guests.But nobody warned me about the guests and nobody gave me a responsibility.And the reason of my dismissal was not answering the phones after 18.00.How could a person answer the phones if he/she did not stay at work after working hours?And the people who loved me disappeared.Because they had the fear of dismissing from the work.If I had been them I would have said this:�If she/he is not working,I will not work also.�But for doing this you have to be brave and you have to have a heart.As it is known that some people borns without a heart.The dismissal not only effected my future but also it effected my earning and my economic power and my freedom.I found another job after six months.And during six months I took money from my family.Of course they are my family and they are eager to help me when I need.But this was not the only problem.My future of working was stolen from me by saying an nonsense and tragicomic excuse.
