My first bartending job

I was 21 and found a job in the bartending business at a pool hall that hosted a lot of APA leagues. I started out as a third shift cleaning person, but was soon bumped up to bartender after the last one got fired for whatever. I was a pretty good bartender and i generated a lot of returning clientele. What I found out very quickly though, was that my boss was completely insane. We had done a lot of things together...i babysat her kid, we went to movies, we did tequila shots, went out for ice cream, and i did her a lot of favors...i took her to the hospital in the middle of the night when she was half drunk because she cut her foot, i held her hand , and let her cry when she was upset, i listened to her complain about EVERYTHING! And i was her personal B*tch and did all her management functions for her, but never got paid management or was givien a title...i even did payroll. One day I was her best friend the next day she was screaming at me in front of customers "F**K You!!" because we ran out of polish for the bar and so of course, it didn't get polished. I loved my customers and the money i was making, but it was getting harder and harder to deal with her. Finally two years later she announces that i will be returning to third shift cleaning instead of bartending, because quote: "nobody cleans like you do." "And by the way" she says,"That bar shift was never really yours, i was just letting you work it as a favor" yeeahh right...a two year long favor so she could get drunk instead of work. So i told her no. I had my senior thesis work coming up and couldn't be getting out at 8 in the am to get to school by 8:30 IF the next guy showed up on time, which,BTW, he never did. But, being nice i agreed to work it for two weeks and take over the bartending at midnight every night before closing at 2 to clean. I did this for almost two weeks but I hated the loss in money. i went from $400 a weekend to $7 an hour. So i quit. i didn't lift a finger for the rest of that night and gave the morning girl $20 bucks in recompense, cause either she would have to clean it up or let the boss see it and get reamed for it. I went back to school and used my loans to live for a while and after the semester was over and I graduated..i wanted to go to the pool hall to celebrate....only to find out that my name was on the list of Banned people (people that have stolen, or caused fights, or owe for tabs). I almost didn't believe it. I only left one day before my scheduled end date... and she kept me on that list for about 4 years. Talk about holding a grudge. There were other people i knew HAD stolen and gotten fired that were allowed in because they came to kiss her A** and apologize. I really saw nothing to apologize for so i never did, and so my name remains.
