Doesn't Like Competition
A few years ago I started what was then a dream job. My boss was wonderful to work for and there was an atmosphere of teamwork at the organization. One day she approached me and said she was going to make me her right-hand man in a few months when the new budget was approved.
Unfortunately for me, a month later she came up to me and told me she had accepted a job out of state and would be leaving in a few weeks. She said she would recommend that I get her position, but that the CEO didn't respect her much and probably wouldn't do it. When she left, the HR man, who had just started a few days earlier, promoted a co-worker to fill her position (he had the same position as I).
The first week in his new position he informed me he was moving my office from the nice corner with windows to one under the stairway. I couldn't even stand up completely in the room! I knew this was my cue to begin looking for another job.
In just a few weeks, the place transformed itself from one of teamwork to one where you "do what I say." Suddenly everyone was leaving. Unfortunately I was not able to find another job soon enough, so he fired me.
My dream job turned into a nightmare in a matter of weeks!

this literally just happened to me as well, infact, today!! My old boss got promoted and switched branches so we got this young annoying lady who was on a power trip and she flat out didnt like me at all. I got sick and missed a week of work but got a docters note and I came back today to find out that they terminated me for being sick. Nice huh?
