Shaving Foam
Okay I wasn't fired for this one but I was pretty damn close....
I'm a Scottish web designer who was working for a rather large, stale corporation at the time and got a little bored. A friend of mine was the graphic designer who sat diagonally across from me, and my boss sat on my right. Way too cosy, for starters!
Anyways, one day a few of the guys downstairs (tech support - they're always game for things that get you fired) and I discovered that you can freeze shaving foam. Why? Because - when it's frozen in the can it's like a solid little block - we used the graphic designer's craft knife to cut the top off the tube and slide the frozen block of foam into his desk drawer, closed the drawer then retreated to a safe watching place...
BOOM! The poor sod opened the drawer creating some kind of weird vacuous suction that basically makes the foam explode. Everywhere. Including all over my boss, sitting in his best suit to meet a big client.
Lord only knows how I didn't get fired - took a lot of backtracking :D
