Repo of coworkers car
In early March, my co-worker was involved in a traffic accident that destroyed his car. As these things usually do, it took quite some time for insurance companies to sort things out, and he ended up buying a used car at the end of the month.
He was so proud of his new "baby", that I had to have a little fun. On April 1, I had a friend of mine call him up pretending to be the police, asking if he had just purchased a silver Buick, VIN number xxxxxx, from dealer XYZ. The caller informed him that his car was in fact a stolen vehicle, and that a police impound lot tow truck was on its way to our work location to seize the vehicle. I hid behind my cubicle wall stifling my laugh as he said "but.... but.... how?".
He grabbed a cigarette and went outside to the parking lot to wait for the phantom tow truck. I let him stew on it for about 5 minutes, then went outside to ask him what was going on. By the time he was done telling the saga, I broke down laughing and filled him in.
