Got "nailed"

I once worked as a waitress (summer job) at "xxxxx" in Encino, Ca. After about 3 or 4 weeks, I was fired for not wearing red nail polish!! Mind you, I keep my nails VERY short so calling attention to them with any colored nail polish let alone blood red, just is not my style.
When I demanded to know why it was now policy that waitresses must wear red polish I was told (spoken in a very loud, SOPRANO'S type New Jersey accent....) "It hides the spaghetti sauce that collects under your nails". Horrified, I responded "What if I just keep my nails real clean?". At that point he pointed over his shoulder and said "You're outta here!".
