Years ago I worked for a U-bake style pizza place. I was only 16 and worked about 10-12 hours a week because of school. There were times when they would make me be on call 3 days out of the week (on top of these 10-12 hours). I was only working there to earn money to pay my car insurance, put gas in the car, and buy clothes. It was not a very important job to me but when I was there I rocked! My dad owned a pizza place for a while before that and I could run it with my eyes closed, the current place I worked wouldn't even let me touch any of the machinery b/c I wasn't old enough! It was very frustrating. My boss even admitted I had more experience than she did. Anyways, to make a long story short... when I would get called in on my days off I would always give the shift to this other guy who lived alone and was working his way through college. He always needed money and wanted more hours and since I was just on-call I'd let him have the hours. He never went into overtime and I didn't think it was a big deal- he needed the money, they needed someone to work, and I had homework to do. Well, apparently they didn't like it and they fired me!!!! Nobody ever told me it was wrong and I was a kick-butt worker! WTF?
