Love gives away the bottom line

I lived with a plastic surgeon 2.5 years and almost married her when she moved to another state and I wasn’t invited along so I attended college. After college I moved to my home state and the plastic surgeon moved to the state capitol and set up practice.
I set up her computer network, but we did not resume the intimate relationship. The plastic surgeon’s office manager always inspired me to many great things. After 8 months the office manager and I started our intimacy. About that same time I came up with an original idea, a custom media presentation that could be sold to all plastic surgeons. I presented it to my old girlfriend (the plastic surgeon) and she loved it. She had cash put away for such a project and for a year I was developing and creating custom media presentations for about a dozen plastic surgeons. (It was so good, 5 minutes after the first presentation a patient committed to over $20,000 in surgery, another presentation brought in over $7 mil in donations to a California Children's Hospital) There was an agreement for a 3-way split between the office manager, plastic surgeon and myself. After spending about $30,000 on computers, printing, trade shows, travel, etc. the plastic surgeon started dating a guy that lead her to believe he could do better. His first gift from her was a $12,000 Jaguar. She dropped me like a hot potato. He spent over $120,000 and could not produce a single presentation for other plastic surgeons. She went through about a dozen computer “wizards” but none could do what I had done. After she had dropped one “wizard” I visited the “wizard” and find a problem to another project he was working on. I gave him one clue to eliminate the problem. He then saw all the bad mouthing the plastic surgeon had done was anger at screwing up a good thing.
The office manager and I continued for a couple more years. She became my muse for another project involving kaleidoscopes. I miss her much more than any other job I’ve ever had.
