Fired for not wearing a tie!

This is sad...I've been fired/let go/quit/yelled at, WAY too much!

I was temping for a while and I kept getting these lame receptionist jobs that would only be for about 2 weeks each.

Every time they would give me my latest reception job, the agencey would always tell me to dress up REALLY nice for the first day. With each new job I wore a suit and a cool tie and sometimes even a vest, just to be all classy...

EVERY time I walked into a new job the boss and staff would all laugh and say "going to a wedding? We're not THAT stuffy around here!"

So finally I got a new assignment that was to actually last a MONTH (reception again) and It was really hot out and I was sick of dressing up only to get looked at funny and told I was "too dressed up." So I wore dress pants and a button down shirt. BUT I brought a tie along in a bag JUST in case.

4 hours into the new job some big burly, intimidating man charges up to my desk and asks me my name (in a stern voice) and then starts SCREAMING at me because I wasn't wearing a tie! (it was in the bag in my car...but there was no use telling him that!) He actually said "How dare you come to a job without a suit and tie when you KNOW you're representing a company!" Besides not having a tie, I thought I looked pretty good...but the guy said I looked like "crap" and I was unprofessional for not wearing a tie!

Then my temp agencey called and said they were furious at me because that guy (who was the big boss) yelled at them for my unproffesionalism and they do NOT want me to ever come back! Then my agencey fired me too! They said they were apalled that I would go to my first day on a job without a jacket and tie!

I guess I should have known better, but what made me SO mad at myself was the fact that for the last SIX jobs I was all decked out in a SUIT and the companies would be like "what is wrong with you? it's 90 degrees out and this isn't a wedding!" so the ONE time I said "screw it!" I get screamed at and fired!
