Fired for going to a wedding

In 1998 I worked at xxxx Suites, of Scottsdale Arizona. There was a manager, Brandon xxxx who I told I needed a Sunday three weeks from the day off for a girlfriend's wedding. He said that was okay. Well, on the morning of the wedding, I answered my phone and it was Brandon. He said I needed to come to work that morning. I told him I requested it off and he okayed it. Despite this he fired me. I shouldn't have answered the phone, but I didn't have caller ID at the time. I think Brandon was on drugs.
