The FIRST Simply Fired story (repost)

Here I am. Brand new employee. Excited to be
re-entering corporate life with a higher salary after
completing my Master's Degree.

Oops. I goofed. I thought I did the right thing.
Reality bites.

During New Hire orientation I listened to the "big guy"
aka CEO share the company philosophy of
"passion for its customers and passion for its
employees". We were all handed an "empowerment card"
and were allowed to pull it out on anyone who did not
uphold the virtues and values of the organization.

So, on the side, the VP of HR told me that this card was
the biggest joke in the company, but please don't
repeat it because it would hurt the CEO's feelings.
Little did I know that she would be the worst offender.
After a few days on the job I found out they called her Jeykle and Hyde
and only a few days later I realized why.
As the Senior Trainer, reporting into the HR Department, I witnessed the VP of HR
conduct numerous firings and only a few weeks on the job and to my surprise,
it was my turn to be let go. Reason stated: position being eradicated (but I think
it was for having too many quality improvement ideas.)

There is more to the story, sadly enough. I have a disability. It was quite obvious that this individual
a. never dealt with someone with a disability and b. feared the crap out of it and
c. would eliminate anyone that would actually make her think about her
job after 9 AM.

My advice to HR professionals: Please put the word HUMAN back in Human Resources.
Disability does not mean lack of intelligence
