While Katie Couric will hang onto the anchor's chair and whatever Arbitron ratings she still has after tee hee reading her fake memories off the teleprompter, Don Imus will ride into the sunset. CBS has axed the shock jock from the network...
"From the outset, I believe all of us have been deeply upset and revulsed by the statements that were made on our air about the young women who represented Rutgers University in the NCAA Women's Basketball Championship with such class, energy and talent," CBS President and Chief Executive Officer Leslie Moonves said in a statement.Hey Leslie, know what? You're a hypocrite. Everyone knows Imus is a dick. Everyone thought Katie was like, you know, a serious newsperson. If Imus has to go for offending the audience, Katie and her great legs need to follow the I-Man out the door too.
I wish I had an invite to whatever party Howard Stern is going to throw to celebrate Imus getting kicked off the air. You know that's going to be one rocking freakshow.
so if imus is fired for his racial slurs when are we going to fire all the minorities, rappers, movie stars, comics for saying racial comments about themselves. do you think i like hearing about spiks by spiks? so its ok for a race to slam their own race? as far as im concerned, imus said nothing worse then what blacks or any other minority, including whites say about themselves. why dont we address each other by our names, instead of nigga, hoe, scank, spik, whitty, gook, raghead, tweeker, bum, trancient, homeless, gay, fag, dyke and so on and so on..... a spanish american citizen of the united states since 1964

Any commentator, tv anchor man or woman, or popular personality usually signs a contract to basically not offend the public, its just professionalism, and Imus knew better he has been in the public eye to long not to know, you watch what you say, he no longer has the same rights to freedom of speech, obviously it has cost him his job and his pay check, it was offensive to any woman period, they didn't have to be black of any race it is bad.
As far as us calling each other names, rappers, etc it definitely is just as bad, but when you speak to the public and its your personal opinion and millions are people are listening you on a daily basis are going to loose every time. He should have been fired and anybody else who does the same.

I think he got what he deserves. Anyone who says anything racial or discriminating against someone else you should be fine. But then Jay Mariotti has not been fired and he deserves it too.

Everyone who knows me knows that the "N" word is not allowed in my house or around my presence but where is right from wrong instilled here? Imus is a jerk always has been always will be but then you have Rev. Jesse Jackson talking about all the himi's in NYC. What about that? When did it become ok for a black personality to slam somebody that's white and when did it become ok for a white personality to slam somebody because they are black? What's fair for 1 should be fair for all, dont you think? I am an American Italian and I refuse to slam anybody because my house is glass, but this racial thing has just gotten way off the mark here. Maybe if everybody just makes it a point to shut the hell up perhaps we wouldn't be in this mess that we are today. Too bad our children have no hope for there future with the way the world is today. For instance back in the 60's if you were caught trying to scam somebody you went to jail. Now thats all I see on this computer these days. Scam artist. I could go on and on but there isn't enough room. Have a blessed day.
